Retired 15th JDC Judge Lucien C. Bertrand Jr., 82, died Thursday, January 22, 2004. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1945 and his Juris Doctor degree from Tulane Law School in 1949. He took his first judicial oath of office on January 1, 1967 in the 15th JDC and was reelected without opposition until his retirement in 1992. Prior to his election to the bench, he was in the practice of law for seventeen years. He served four years with the Naval Air Corps during World War II and was commissioned U.S. Naval Aviator during that time.
