Former 15th JDC Judge Suetta “Sue” Fontenot, 62, died Tuesday, July 29, 2008. A 1967 graduate of the current University of Louisiana at Lafayette, she earned her juris doctor degree from Louisiana State University Law School in 1971. Engaged in the private practice of law for seven years, Fontenot also served as attorney for the Department of Agriculture. She took her oath of office for the 15th JDC in January 1979 and served there until her resignation in March of 1987.
